Is This Your Street?
Imagine living on a street with just three other houses occupied by your family and friends (some of you do, no doubt) and the rest of the world miles away! To the north (behind the houses pictured here), is a huge expanse of land conserved in perpetuity. To the south and west, well, let's just wait on that for a minute. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, natural quiet interrupted only by natural sounds, abundant flora and fauna . . . where is this place?
The forensic photographic experts (see for example, Colleen Fitzpatrick's Forensic Genealogy) would take note of the fact that the trees have grown permanently bent in a southerly direction--suggesting strong north winds. The trees look very much like Cupressus macrocarpa which grows best along California's foggy central and northern coast.
The houses seem to be of uniform design: is this perhaps a government or military installation of some kind?
Oh, by the way, to the west of these houses, just about 50 yards away, is another house.

I believe those would be the vacation rentals available at the Point Arena Lighthouse in Point Arena, California?
Right, Drew. Have you been there?
I've never been there, but I'll have to put it on my list of places to visit! I did a Google search for "California" and "lighthouses", and was able to match the photo to a photo of the Point Arena Lighthouse.
