I really believe in giving credit where credit is due.
On May 20, 2007, I wrote to the Missouri State Archives to request copies of the original log of death certificates concerning Eliza Jane Long (died 1885) and Pauline Long (died 1886).
My requests were received on May 24, 2007. On June 4, 2007, I received a notice from the Archives that acknowledged receipt of my requests and stated that processing could take up to eight weeks.
On June 7, 2007, I received the requested materials.
Thanks, Missouri! You consistently come through.

Kudo's to all of the states who handle request in such a speedy manner. Baton Rouge, LA is another one with great turn around. I live in California with most of what I need in Baton Rouge, never had to wait over ten days for return. California is the worst, requested copy of death certificate in February, received post card dated May 2, 2007, informating me it will take approximately 12 weeks from the date of the post card. And don't request marriage or divorce records from Sacramento it will take years according to the information on the post card.
