Took a few days off to go to California for the funeral of Andre Anthony Pittman . . . About a thousand people showed up to say, "'Til we meet again, Andre . . . ."
Funerals, of course, are huge family and community events. They are appropriate times to recall and reminisce. I learned of an aunt that Andre never knew he had. And I discovered more evidence to follow on the hypothesis that my father actually may be related to a close friend whom he's known for fifty years.
A close friend of mine called to say that she had discovered her royal forebears (specifically, the Plantagenets). And this is the 25th annual National Women's History Month . . . .
