You've captured what I envision was my Italian immigrant grandfather's experience when he crossed the Canadian border into the US. I'm sure he couldn't express it at the time, but I know he came to believe in this country based on how hard he worked to provide for his family. I know if he could see his 60-70 descendent's, and what they've become, he would know boarding that ship in Naples, Italy 107 years ago (almost to the day) was the best decision he ever made.
